1984 - 1989 Nissan 300ZX (Z31) ECCS/ECU Part Numbers
You must be in proper group:
Federal turbo or Calif turbo or Federal non-turbo or Calif non-turbo.
Then look under proper transmission.
ECU can have a NMC number or a JECS number the numbers are listed as NMC/JECS these are interchangeable.
This section only applies to ECCS/ECU part numbers for US bound 300ZX (Z31) models.

What does this all mean?
Depending on the year and whether you're a turbo or not, you can probably swap ECUs with another car and not have issues. It is very common for people to use automatic ECUs in their manual transmission cars. It has been reported, however, that people who use manual transmission ECUs in their automatics have difficulty with keeping the car idling.
